I was Stage Manager for my school’s Spring Show of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” I was so excited, for it was the first show I’d be working as Stage Manager for, and it was also my favorite Shakespeare piece. But as we got into longer rehearsals, the actors started to respect me less; for they saw me as a peer, rather than someone they needed to listen to. And since we were having such long rehearsals, people started getting bored, which meant they started talking to each other. And even though I asked them multiple times to keep the volume down, they never listened. I would ask them to please quiet down, then as I would walk into the tech shop to work on their props, they would start talking again; only two or three times louder. It took our Tech Director and our Director yelling at them all multiple times to quiet down.

do you ever feel like you like someone a lot more than they like you and then start to feel like you’re just annoying them because while you always want to talk to them they probably don’t always want to talk to you and it stresses you out a lot and then you just start to feel really depressed about it
